When I started as a Professional Organizer 3 years ago, I knew I could help people with their clutter and help them create more efficient, well-run lives. What I didn’t know was that I was going to get a unique window into their hopes, worries and inner most thoughts.Read More
Hello my Lovely!
Are you ready to declutter some books?
I bet you and I have something in common: we both love books and are avid readers. As a Professional Organizer, I often see massive book collections where only a tiny fraction of my clients' books are actually being used, loved and read.
And as a former Librarian, I have to say, it makes me giddy to help my clients with this. :) It is SO fun for me to dig in and help my clients discard the books that don't light them up anymore and then make the remaining collection both functional and beautiful.Read More
Many of us have so much stuff that we don't enjoy our homes. There is stuff everywhere. We haven't seen our table tops in ages, it's hard to navigate some rooms without tripping over something or bruising our hip squeezing past furniture. There might be whole sections of our homes that we avoid at all costs. One of my favorite clients has a room that we lovingly refer to as "The Mystery Room" because what's in it is, well, a mystery.
When we have so that much stuff it's like trying to write a book while sitting on the floor of a busy airport terminal. There is so much stimuli to distract us we can never get quiet and focus on the thing at hand. It's mentally fatiguing to take in all that information.
It nags at us and tells us lies.Read More
I really believe, with 100% of my heart, that taking care of your space is one of the best forms of self care there is. Think about it. Your home is where you retreat from the world. Where you spend your most intimate, vulnerable moments of your day. You suit up and get ready to take on the world beginning from your space. You sleep, eat, think, rest and commune there. You may live alone or you may live with 10 people but we are all doing basically the same things in our homes. And when you come home, there is a sense of relief. That you can take off your shoes and strip off your armor and be your truest self. Let it all hang out.
If there is something that bothers you in your space, it can really bother you.
