When was the last time you even considered those big three?
No, I don’t mean in terms of picking summer programs for your kids or scanning the books in a bookstore window as you speed on by, off to your next appointment.
I. Mean. For. YOU.
Hold up- before those pretty eyes start rolling and scrolling past yet another self love blah blah rant that just makes you jaw clench…..lemme explain.
I get it. I was you. Still am, lots of days. But I reached a point in my ‘BUSY’ life where I looked around and realized that the inside did not match the outside.Read More
Many of us have so much stuff that we don't enjoy our homes. There is stuff everywhere. We haven't seen our table tops in ages, it's hard to navigate some rooms without tripping over something or bruising our hip squeezing past furniture. There might be whole sections of our homes that we avoid at all costs. One of my favorite clients has a room that we lovingly refer to as "The Mystery Room" because what's in it is, well, a mystery.
When we have so that much stuff it's like trying to write a book while sitting on the floor of a busy airport terminal. There is so much stimuli to distract us we can never get quiet and focus on the thing at hand. It's mentally fatiguing to take in all that information.
It nags at us and tells us lies.Read More
I really believe, with 100% of my heart, that taking care of your space is one of the best forms of self care there is. Think about it. Your home is where you retreat from the world. Where you spend your most intimate, vulnerable moments of your day. You suit up and get ready to take on the world beginning from your space. You sleep, eat, think, rest and commune there. You may live alone or you may live with 10 people but we are all doing basically the same things in our homes. And when you come home, there is a sense of relief. That you can take off your shoes and strip off your armor and be your truest self. Let it all hang out.
If there is something that bothers you in your space, it can really bother you.
Have you ever felt really pissy when you were cleaning up a room and you couldn't figure out why? Or maybe you were decluttering the back of your closet and found yourself on the floor crying your eyes out. If you have experienced this, you know that you can jump from "Why do I have this shirt?" to "I really hate my blanking job" or "I wish I never moved here" or "My kids are growing up way too fast" in a nano second.
So what's THAT all about?Read More
